Paul C Keeton opened his Lewiston office in 1945 and the practice quickly focused on the vigorous representation of individuals to meet their legal needs not only in worker's compensation and general civil litigation, but also in providing sound legal advice in many areas of law including real estate matters, wills and probate, contracts of all kinds, family law, and insurance disputes. Mr. Keeton passed away on March 24, 2005.
Mr. John R. Tait joined the practice in 1974 and continued the firm's active representation of people of the region in a variety of matters. He received his BA at Columbia College, New York, NY in 1968 and served in the US Army from 1968-1971 as a Counterintelligence Special Agent and then graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Law, Nashville, TN in 1974. He has primary responsibility for worker's compensation, personal injury, wills, probate, real estate, business and general civil litigation matters.
Mrs. Karin R. Seubert joined the firm as an associate in 2007 having received her JD, Cum Laude, from the Washington College of Law, American University, Washington, DC in 2007. She received her BA, Magna Cum Laude, from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC in 1999 and a Master of Community Planning from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD in 1999. In addition to her interest in real estate and planning and zoning matters, she has special interests in family law, wills and probate, and workers compensation.
The firm normally does not represent large corporations or insurance companies, but rather focuses on representing individuals. Corporations and insurance companies have access to lawyers. Individuals need high quality representation and Keeton and Tait seeks to meet that need.
We are particularly proud of the excellent legal staff at Keeton and Tait, with our key paralegal and legal assistants each having over 25 years of experience with us. Their talents assist the firm in providing the highest quality legal work at reasonable costs to our clients.
Keeton and Tait is a participant in the Union Privilege Legal Service benefits program for AFL-CIO union members as well as the Idaho Education Association legal benefits program for teachers. We are the only local long time participant in these programs. These programs assist individuals in obtaining legal services at very reasonable costs.
